Cleaning Guidelines

No Clay in the Sink: To prevent drain blockages, please prepare water in the large green/blue flexi tubs located by the sink. Thoroughly wash your hands, arms, and tools before rinsing under running water. Use the dark green/blue tubs for mixed clay and the lighter ones for white clay. Be mindful of the type of clay you’re using and ensure that no clay particles enter the drain.

Dust: To protect the health and safety of all members, it's essential to minimize exposure to clay dust, which can lead to serious lung diseases like silicosis. The effects are irreversible and build up over time, so it’s vital to take necessary precautions. Be conscious of dust generation and help protect both yourself and your fellow potters.

Wheel: Clean the wheel thoroughly with a large, wet sponge, ensuring you scrub the surface multiple times. Clean the wheel and stools to a standard you would expect for your own use, leaving them free of clay residue or debris for the next user.

Table: Please leave the table tidy after your use.

Tools: Ensure that all tools used during your session are cleaned and returned to their original place.

Floor: Please clean up any mess or spills you may have created. Your efforts help maintain a clean and safe environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation!
